Things Fall Apart by Isabella Peralta

Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe is a gripping story of a tribe member by the name of Onkonkwo. Onkonkwo is a yam farmer, and is quite famous in his village for defeat the wreastler Amalez, the cat. Onkonkwo has been having a very great life, providing for his many wives, and help raise his children. The day it turns around are when white missionaries come into his village and attempt to save the savages. As time progresses, Onkonkwo comes back to his village after being banished due to a incident. He finds that Christianity has spread. Culture has change, and he doesn't know how to adjusts. In the end, he sends a symbolic symbol that reaches the ears of many former villagers.
Chinua Achebe's novel is a great read, his use of literary elements and metaphoric ways of writing keep you captivated. You root for Onkonkwo, that tragic hero, but get the cold splash of historical reality in Thing Fall Apart.
